A gift for Children this Holiday season

The holidays, as the saying goes, are a time for giving.

And at GLiNTECH, that’s not an empty cliche - it’s a heartfelt vow that we take very seriously.

Throughout our 21 years, we have prided ourselves on our community work and our commitment to charitable organisations. And this holiday season is no different.

This holiday season, GLiNTECH are proud to support The Sleep Medicine Unit at the Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick by funding a new Trilogy Ventilator to support infants and children with respiratory failure or severe sleep-disordered breathing.

This specialist equipment is one of the only ventilators approved for use on children as light as 5kg . The new mechanical ventilator will support children when they require invasive or non-invasive assistance with breathing. The invasive ventilator mode uses a tracheostomy tube whilst the non-invasive modes administer ventilation support through a mask. This means it can meet the changing needs of patients and can also be used for a wide range of conditions, providing greater continuity of care.

This equipment will provide patients with the correct volume and pressure of oxygen, to ensure that the exact flow of oxygen is being administered. The Sensitive Auto-Trak setting provides an enhanced triggering response for patients with minimal respiratory effort. These features promote a smooth, effective transition from the acute care setting to home.

The Trilogy Ventilator will support up to 20 children per year.

Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation supports the two largest kids’ hospitals in the country, and is dedicated to raising funds that go to the frontline of children’s health care. Every year, the Foundation sends us a list of critical equipment for which they need funding, and our donation goes towards purchasing these valuable resources.

Our partnership with the Foundation dates back to 2007 and it’s just one of the organisations we support through our ongoing commitment to community work.

Some of our other charitable contributions include:

• Sponsorship of user groups and sports teams
• Providing computer and robotics equipment for schools
• Supporting fundraising of our suppliers and staff at events including the White Pearl Ball, a City2Surf team for Starlight Children’s Foundation, and Walk4BrainCancer
• Fundraising, donating equipment and volunteering with charities such as The Brain Cancer Group and Black Dog Institute
